New here
Just wanted to say hi!
Welcome! Don't hesitate to ask any questions while you get settled in.
Welcome!
Welcome to the community — we're generally pretty friendly here and it pays to ask questions early rather than struggling with things privately for weeks at a time because everyone in this thread started exactly where you are right now, which is probably overwhelming and confusing and filled with jargon that nobody explained properly. I remember my first week on this platform vividly and I was so terrified of posting something stupid or getting mocked by people who had been doing this for years but what actually happened is no one cared because everyone has been a beginner at some point in their life and the knowledge gap closes faster than you think once you get past that initial panic phase where everything looks like an impossible wall. The key is to break things down into smaller questions rather than trying to absorb the entire subject matter all at once which I learned the hard way by trying to read every thread simultaneously and ending up with a headache and zero actual understanding of anything. My friend Dave used to say that you can't learn everything in one day so I started applying that logic here and found it incredibly helpful for staying focused on what actually mattered instead of getting lost in the rabbit hole of side topics and tangential discussions. This reminds me of when I moved into my first apartment alone and tried to figure out how a dishwasher worked — I spent three hours watching YouTube videos only to realize it was just a button I hadn't pushed yet, which is exactly what happens here too because sometimes the answer is simpler than you imagine but your brain has already built up an expectation of complexity that doesn't exist. Just keep asking questions and don't worry about looking like you know nothing because nobody here expects you to know everything on day one and honestly the people who act like they do are usually just better at hiding their confusion.
Welcome to the sub! If you're looking for mod recommendations, I usually start with the top-rated ones in the Nexus section and build from there. The community here is super helpful so don't hesitate to ask questions -- everyone was new at some point.
Welcome! Glad to have you here. Feel free to ask anything.
