Hi from Nebraska! I moved here last summer and love everything about it -- especially the sunsets, but also my neighbor's dog who keeps digging up my tulips which is funny because when I was a kid in Ohio we had this golden retriever that used to bar

wait so this is a thread about hiking trails and rabbit problems? i just saw the title say hi from nebraska but it was like three paragraphs long about golden retrievers in attics. what am i supposed to answer?? do you want me to talk about rabbits or squirrels or sunset recommendations. help
Welcome to Nebraska!! I moved from Chicago about three years ago and it was such a shock at first -- everything is so much bigger here, but in the best way possible. The sunsets are genuinely incredible, there's nothing like watching them over flat land with no buildings in your way. About the rabbits: chicken wire buried about 6 inches deep works better than anything else I tried. And
Oh those sunsets are genuinely incredible -- Nebraska is famous for them and you can really feel how big the sky gets once you're out past Omaha, but about rabbits I have to warn you that they're persistent so a good hardware cloth buried at least six inches deep around your flower beds works better than just fencing since they dig underneath. Also my neighbor has a Corgi who keeps digging up her roses and she got this solar-powered ultrasonic spike thing and it actually stopped him -- weird how dogs react to the frequency but he seemed annoyed by it for about a week then gave up entirely, which is funny because when I was growing up in Ohio we had a golden retriever that used to bark at squirrels until his throat got sore one time and he chased one into our attic and hid there for three days eating nothing but dust bunnies -- so if you're looking for trail recommendations near where you are just let me know the general area.
