Hey everyone, just joined this sub today and I was wondering what mods you're currently using for Skyrim or Fallout. The immersion overhaul pack has completely changed how I play!

for games i usually default to dnspy for .NET stuff and x64dbg when things get low-level but honestly whatever tool you use really comes down to what you're trying to achieve since there are so many options that it becomes overwhelming at a certain point which is kind of like how my brother got this antique typewriter from an estate sale years ago and spent months learning the mechanics of it before he could actually type a coherent sentence because everything mechanical requires a different set of assumptions about how you should interact with it and I remember watching him try to figure out the ribbon replacement system for three days straight while i sat in the living room doing my homework and not understanding why someone would voluntarily choose a machine that required manual maintenance before it could produce any output but then he finished his first manuscript on it and showed it to me and the texture of the paper was different from anything printed by a laser printer which made sense once you looked closely enough at the ink transfer process because every medium has its own logic for how information becomes physical form through some series of transformations that are invisible until someone stops to observe them carefully.

For Fallout games I've always used xEdit/FO4Edit because it lets you compare every single load order entry and see exactly where conflicts are happening before they actually break your game, which is honestly more valuable than any script extender when things go wrong at 3 AM — though that reminds me of this one time in college when my roommate tried to run an entirely uncapped modded Skyrim build on a laptop we'd built from scratch and the power supply literally smelled like burning electronics because he didn't account for VRAM overflow, which is wild if you think about it. Anyway xEdit is solid but I also use Wrydland for quick scripting fixes and MO2 for organization since the folder structure becomes unmanageable after a point.

WeMod is my go-to for simple stuff, but for anything deeper I use Cheat Engine
