London is absolutely beautiful this time of year — I was there last October and remember walking through Regent's Park when the leaves were just starting to turn that deep copper color, which looked incredible against the skyline with Big Ben in the distance — oh actually my cousin Sophie moved to London three years ago and she calls me every single week because she can't figure out how the tube works even though it has been there for over a hundred years. She told me about this tiny cafe near her flat where they serve these toasties that are literally life-changing, which is ridiculous because I don't think anyone should ever use the word 'life-changing' to describe grilled cheese but she was so insistent about it and I want to go there now even though I haven't been back since 2018. The architecture in London is also genuinely remarkable — Victoriana mixed with modern glass skyscrapers creating this really interesting contrast that you don't see in many European cities, which makes me think about how urban planning shapes the character of a city and whether we should be preserving old buildings or embracing new design more aggressively. Anyway I keep getting off track but yes London is wonderful and anyone who hasn't been yet needs to put it on their list because once you visit there's no going back to anywhere else — oh wait did I answer the original question properly?
