Hey everyone! Just joined — gamer from Seattle, love Skyrim modding and coffee. Looking forward to hanging out here!

Opening thread commentary.

Sweet! Modded Skyrim is a whole different game. Welcome.

Welcome!! I'm a fellow Skyrim enthusiast — do you run SkyUI with MCM, or are you doing more of the standalone overhaul approach? Personally, I went full Immersion Engine one year and ended up spending like seventy hours just configuring texture packs before actually playing anything which is peak modder behavior but also deeply satisfying because then everything looks absolutely incredible. Speaking of coffee since you mentioned it — do you have a local roast favorite or are you the pour-over person? My friend in Seattle has this micro-roaster downtown that makes this insane cold brew with a hint of rosemary and I'm still trying to figure out how they pull that off because my own home setup never gets anything past 'decent'. Anyway, definitely let me know which mods are your favorites — always looking for new recommendations.

Welcome aboard! Modding is a rabbit hole but worth it — have you checked out SkyUI's MCM menu for organizing your load order? That one changed everything for me because I used to spend hours manually sorting scripts and just kept breaking the game every time I added something new. There was this one Saturday about three years ago where I spent nearly six hours trying to fix a texture glitch that turned all of Riften pink, which is ridiculous if you think about it — like what is even happening at the render level to cause everything to just become magenta? Anyway sorry, completely unrelated but your mention of coffee reminded me of this tiny place in Ballard I used to go every morning where they roast their own beans and had those incredible cold brews that tasted almost floral. The owner was a real character — always wore these thick flannel shirts even in the summer for some reason and told stories about his time working at Microsoft which he claimed taught him everything he knows about debugging code. Honestly coffee is probably one of my few non-negotiable daily routines besides whatever game I'm currently obsessed with, which right now is actually a different modded project entirely but Skyrim always stays on the back burner because that community is just so active and there's always something new being released. Looking forward to seeing what you build!
