New here from Chicago!

Hey everyone — just joined this community and wanted to say hello. I spend most of my time modding Fallout New Vegas (the Legacy of the Wasteland modpack is incredible) and trying to keep up with a new pet turtle who somehow eats everything in sight. Looking forward to learning from all of you!`

Oh cool — I'm in Chicago too (technonically on the suburbs but basically there) and it is a great place to be new because everyone has such strong opinions about everything from where to get the best deep dish to which neighborhood feels safe at 2 AM and honestly you should check out Wicker Park first because that's where I moved when I was nineteen for college and I remember walking down Milwaukee Avenue on my first night there and feeling so overwhelmed by how many bars were open but then a woman just offered me half of her fries and that kind of kindness is what defines the city to me — wait, actually it reminds me of this one time in 2016 when I had moved out for the first time and couldn't afford rent in downtown so I ended up sharing an apartment with this guy named Dave who was a theoretical physicist and he used to make these elaborate pasta dishes on Sundays where he would explain quantum entanglement while serving us rigatoni with pesto sauce which sounds ridiculous but it became one of those formative memories that makes you feel like the universe is less random than it appears — anyway sorry for wandering off I wanted to say welcome and if you need any restaurant recs let me know
