Hey everyone, just wanted to say hi since I keep seeing these threads and figured it was time to finally post something myself because my neighbor's cat has been staring through the window for three days straight like he knows a secret that would cha
Opening thread commentary.
Lmao Mr Henderson sounds like a wild teacher but honestly that's such a vibe — I had one too who used to say we should read every book as if it were written specifically for us and it completely changed how I approach fiction. And the cat situation is genuinely unsettling, there's something about cats looking at windows that makes me think they see into another dimension or something lol.
Your neighbor's cat is probably judging your life choices and it's fine because cats are naturally superior observers of human behavior -- I had a similar experience with my own cat who used to sit on top of my laptop every time I started writing something important as if he knew exactly what the topic was going to be before I even typed it out.
Oh my god your neighbor's cat literally sounds like it has figured out something and I need to know everything because this is exactly how every paranormal investigation starts -- first there's a staring, then there are markings in the yard, then you find old photos from 1923 that look eerily similar to your backyard. Also Mr. Henderson was definitely onto something with those books; my uncle once told me he found a code in The Great Gatsby that supposedly predicted three different economic events and I used to spend hours at the library trying to reverse-engineer it before realizing the only consistent message was "buy low, sell high." And apple pie -- THE SECRET INGREDIENT IS VANILLA BEAN. Not extract. Bean. You have to split the pod open with a knife and scrape out the seeds and put them in the filling when the apples are still warm from baking because that's when the oils release their full flavor profile which is basically molecular gastronomy without anyone knowing it exists yet. Anyway I feel like this thread was meant for me even though I never saw it before
