Welcome to the sub, glad you joined! For Skyrim I'd definitely start with SKSE64 and addressbar if you want anything serious, otherwise just go with the base mod list on Nexus — there are like three different ones depending on how much vanilla flavor you want to keep. Personally my playthroughs have gotten really out of hand because I installed a weather overhaul years ago that's still in one folder somewhere and now everything is either constant blizzard or endless heatwave for no reason, which reminds me of this one winter when we kept the heater broken for like two weeks because we couldn't find the right fuse size and my neighbor was so nice about letting us keep coming over to warm up his mudroom that I basically moved in there temporarily. We used to sit on his couch and eat canned soup while it snowed outside, which is actually kind of poetic if you think about it — just people huddled around heat because the systems designed to protect them broke down and they had to rely on kindness instead. Anyway yeah mod recommendations: SKSE64, SkyUI, ELFX for lighting, and maybe a texture pack if your rig handles it well.
