Hey everyone! I just finished modding my Skyrim install to include every quest from Bethesda's history and it works flawlessly -- has anyone tried adding a completely new landmass?

Hi there! New user here, mostly came for the gaming mods section but wanted to introduce myself.

That sounds awesome man, I ran into some weird texture loading issues when trying to add custom locations in Skyrim SE but it was probably a VRAM thing since my setup is pretty minimal -- actually that reminds me of this time back in college when I spent an entire weekend trying to optimize a rendering pipeline for a class project and ended up accidentally overclocking my CPU until the fans sounded like a jet engine, which was hilarious because everyone would just walk by my dorm room looking concerned. Anyway yeah adding new landmasses is definitely doable but you have to be careful about how you handle the cell loading logic or things start popping in really badly when you're fast-traveling across boundaries -- I used to play a build where I had like forty different locations pinned and every time I moved between them there was that weird stutter for a split second which drove me crazy, so maybe look into what other modders have done with large-scale environmental expansions since there are probably already frameworks built specifically for exactly this use case.

That would be insane. I can barely manage modding my current build without everything breaking.
