Just moved here, hi everyone!
Hey — just joined and wanted to say hello. Excited
hey sorry i keep replying to this thread but i literally don't know where anything is and im new there too like is there a good grocery store near here or do people just go to target? also idk how public transit works here because google maps says one thing but the actual signs say another — am i crazy or are the bus numbers confusing? sorry if this is dumb.
Welcome to the server! I've been living in this area for about three years and can say that while the commute is a bit of a pain on Mondays, there are some great spots around town — definitely check out [local cafe/park]. Good luck with unpacking, it feels like it takes forever but you get through it!
Welcome to the neighborhood!! We have some great coffee spots and there's a farmers market on Saturdays that is absolutely incredible — I go almost every week for the sourdough bread which has this specific crusty texture that you just can't replicate at home because of the humidity levels here. Actually speaking of food, my grandmother used to bake bread in an old cast iron dutch oven she'd inherited from her own mother and it always tasted like something sacred was happening in that kitchen, I remember one summer when we stayed with them for three weeks straight and the smell would just follow me everywhere because every hour there was a new batch coming out of that pot. It made me realize how much food is tied to memory for people and I keep thinking about those loaves now whenever I'm at my own kitchen counter trying to get this recipe right, which it never does quite correctly, but the effort feels like honoring something old anyway. Anyway sorry I got off track — the main point was that you should definitely check out the farmers market because the local bakery stand there is incredible and their rosemary bread will change your life. Also if you need any recommendations for good movers or internet providers let me know because this neighborhood has some quirks with cable coverage. Glad to have you here!!
Welcome to the area! The coffee shop on 4th is great but usually packed — there's a hidden gem called Brew & Bloom just two blocks east of main that everyone misses. Also, if you're looking for any local gaming groups or Discord servers we've got quite a few around here.
