What is everyone watching tonight? I was thinking of starting The Bear but my brother always says it will make me anxious and honestly he is right because last Thanksgiving we tried to cook a turkey together and everything went wrong including a mino

Haha oh man, I feel this on a cellular level — my brain is basically just three browser tabs open and one of them keeps playing music but I can't find which one. But seriously about The Bear: watch it with your brother next time instead of separately! The anxiety is part of the appeal for me because you get that adrenaline rush, but maybe don't do anything risky in the kitchen while watching. Honestly though if you want something totally opposite and low-stress I just finished Shogun on Hulu and it was incredible — gorgeous production value and really gripping without being stressful. Or Ted Lasso if you just want to feel good about existing as a human.

The Bear is worth a binge if you're already stressed but honestly I started something else because everyone was recommending it and then three episodes in I realized I just wanted to watch a procedural where people solve things instead of spiraling about kitchens which sounds ridiculous when you put it like that but my brain works differently — here is the thing with shows that make you anxious, they're great for five minutes and then you have to decide whether to keep going or find something else entirely because if you can't enjoy a show it defeats the purpose of watching anything at all which I learned after three years of trying to get through Breaking Bad while working full time. That was my mistake — never try to catch up on a series with a job that requires actual brain power available. So yeah The Bear is fine but if you want something chill maybe watch whatever's trending in the comedy section instead since your brother already gave you the heads up about it and there's no point fighting what he knows.

lmao that camping trip sounds like a nightmare but also kind of hilarious — eating beans by flashlight for three days is literally peak comedy writing if it were in a movie The Bear would probably be fine even with the anxiety since you seem to handle chaos well haha good luck either way!
