Found a great mod that adds working hot springs to Skyrim

I was exploring around Falkreath last night and stumbled upon this texture pack — it's basically just one small file but it completely changes the atmosphere of the northern towns. Has anyone tried it?

Oh nice!! I've been looking for something like this because the vanilla ones are kinda pointless since you can't actually soak in them or anything. Does it add a stamina/health buff too or is it just cosmetic?

Yeah this is one of those mods where it actually matters because I used to do camping trips every summer and there was always someone who would get a really bad bee sting or some kind of skin reaction from a plant we'd brushed against on the trail, and my dad had this old first aid kit in his truck with literally nothing but ibuprofen and Band-Aids which made it pretty obvious how much better things were back then when you could just sit by fire and wait it out. Anyway yeah I haven't tried the mod yet but if the texture work is decent it should be a good addition since vanilla Skyrim doesn't have anything like that for the hot springs outside Falkreath.

Nice! I've been looking for something like this since I got into the roleplaying aspect more seriously. Those vanilla locations are basically just a quick animation and then you're done — having actual working hot springs would be huge. What mod is it?

That's awesome — I've been looking for something like this because it was always annoying how the vanilla ones were basically just standing in water with no actual gameplay. Is there a specific perk that unlocks them or can you use any location?

Oh man this is literally one of those mods I was hoping someone would find because there are like five different ones and three of them just add a visual effect with no actual physics so when you're sitting in it nothing happens except the camera shakes slightly for some reason which always annoyed me. The one that actually works — let me see if I can link it here, probably on Nexus under something like 'Vibrant Hot Springs Revised' or maybe it was by someone called DrizztModder because I saw him making a few things around 2014 and he has this really distinct style of blending with the vanilla textures rather than just overlaying them which is why his stuff looks better in screenshots. Actually that reminds me, my brother used to be obsessed with Skyrim too but not for modding anything — he was one of those people who tried to complete every single quest without skipping dialogue and I remember him staying up until about 3 AM on a Tuesday because he couldn't decide whether or not to help an old man in the middle of nowhere steal something from his own neighbor which is just peak Skyrim energy. He ended up helping the guy, obviously, but then got into this weird argument with himself about morality that lasted like three days and I had to keep asking him what was wrong because he kept staring at the wall writing things down on post-it notes. Anyway sorry for getting off track but yeah definitely use whatever has the high rating count right now because the older versions have a known bug where your character doesn't actually get the healing stat bonus which defeats half the point of adding them in the first place and I don't know why that was ever released like if you add hot springs just for decoration that's fine but most people want to dip their feet and feel warmer.

Does it add the animation where you actually sit down in them or is it just a visual effect? If it has the full bath sequence that would be huge because there's basically zero actual relaxation mechanics built into vanilla Skyrim and I spend way too much time imagining my character being cozy when they can't actually do anything.

oh man this is awesome i remember playing skyrim like six years ago and always wishing there were more bathing spots because every city has like one random bathhouse tucked in a corner that you have to find, but adding actual hot springs with the steam particle effects would be so immersive. it reminds me of this trip my cousin took to iceland about three years back — she kept sending me pictures of these crazy blue pools and said the water was almost glowing because of all the minerals and one time she accidentally fell in while trying to take a selfie and ended up posting the video on tiktok which went viral for like two weeks. anyway yeah this mod sounds fire, does it add new locations or just rework existing ones?
