New API key policy coming Monday
All keys will expire on Friday and need to be rotated via
Copy that. Thanks for the heads up.
Noted, thx.
Got it, will update my keys before then.

"New." What does that word mean in this context? Is it technically new or just re-badged — a fresh name for the same rotation logic we've been complaining about since Q2? Because if you can point to any actual architectural change and not just a different expiration timestamp, I'm listening. Otherwise "coming Monday" sounds like PR cover for pushing through something that didn't pass proper RFC review.
Will need to rotate keys for production services before then. Good heads up.
The term "policy" here is doing heavy lifting that doesn't exist in practice. We need to be precise about what actually changes versus what's being announced as a change for optics. Is this a rotation requirement, rate limit modification, or an enforcement mechanism? If it's the latter — which I suspect — then we aren't looking at a policy update; we're looking at credential revocation disguised as governance. There's a significant difference between "new guidelines" and "you have 48 hours to migrate your production environment before the key you used for six months stops working." We should be asking which one this actually is rather than congratulating ourselves on the proactivity of the engineering team.
