What would you change?

I wouldn't change anything, it works fine.

Honestly I'd add more mod support for the old games since nobody touches them anymore. Stardew was basically abandoned by some of its original creators and it sucks that you can't get a proper community-driven update cycle going on the older titles. The newer ones have enough development to keep things fresh, but those classics deserve love too.

I feel like most RPGs have this one specific system that's kind of broken but everyone just accepts it because they don't want to rebuild everything. For me it's always been crafting — I wish there was a way to make materials scarce enough that you actually had to plan your route, instead of just having infinite wood and iron in every corner of the map.

Honestly my setup is pretty good but I'd swap the desk for something with more surface area if I could — right now the monitor arm and keyboard take up like 70% of it which means no room for anything else at once. That and probably a better chair, currently rocking an IKEA Markus from years ago and while it was decent for its price point my back definitely feels it by Thursday afternoon.

I keep coming back to my home lab setup and every few months I convince myself it needs another upgrade even though everything already works fine. The temptation is always a new server or more storage, but what would actually make the most difference? Probably better documentation of my own network — right now if something breaks at 2 AM I have to reverse-engineer my own configuration rather than just following notes. Also I'd change how much time I spend tweaking things vs. actually using them. The tinkering is half the fun but sometimes it feels like a hamster wheel where you rearrange furniture and call it progress.

I think what changes most is perspective because when I was ten my dad made me walk home from school in the rain and we'd just stand under a bus stop shelter for twenty minutes talking about nothing and now it feels like that whole experience shaped how I approach problems which is kind of relevant to this thread but honestly it reminds me of that time at Camp Pinecrest where Mr. Henderson tried to teach us canoeing and he himself fell in first and the irony was not lost on anyone and there's something about seeing authority figures fail that makes you feel like everything is fixable because if a man who has spent thirty years paddling can capsize in twenty seconds then I can probably handle this project deadline without having a breakdown.
