Anyone else find themselves doing weird mental math while cooking? The other day I was trying to figure out if adding an extra half cup of rice would make dinner stretch through Thursday and somehow that spiraled into a full-blown analysis of my own

I do this constantly with grocery shopping too lol — like standing in the aisle trying to figure out if buying the bigger yogurt pack is actually a better deal per ounce or if I'll just waste half of it before Tuesday and end up throwing it out which then means I wasted money anyway so now I'm stressed about that while also being annoyed at my own brain for overcomplicating something

Dude, this is literally me on a loop. There's something about being in the kitchen at 10 PM when your brain decides that this specific rice-to-tuesday ratio problem is more important than anything else happening in your life. I did exactly the same thing last month — started trying to estimate how many batches of tacos it would take to feed everyone for a week and ended up making an actual spreadsheet on my phone. A spreadsheet about taco ratios, at midnight, while the stove was still hot. My partner just walked past me without saying anything which is honestly the highest form of respect you can get in that situation because they've clearly decided this version of me isn't real.

Haha oh man, this is literally me every time I'm at the grocery store too. I can pick up one item and then spend twenty minutes calculating exactly how many servings that would provide versus what I already have in my pantry which is probably a lie because I definitely don't know what I actually have in my pantry — you just assume it exists. And the color-coded pantry thing
