Skyrim modding question — which ENB settings are best?

Hey everyone, just started adding a bunch of texture packs and lighting mods to Skyrim and my performance is tanking. Any tips on optimizing ENB settings without losing too much visual quality? I'm running an RTX 3070 at 1440p so I can afford some overhead but still want smooth

It depends what you're trying to do, but for most builds I just go with Silent Horizons or Community Shaders + ENB Series 7.2b if you want real lighting effects. If your PC is anything older than a 30-series card, keep the shadows and reflections low — that's where all the performance goes.

Honestly I've been bouncing between presets for about six months and the real answer is it depends on your GPU — but if you're running anything above a 3060, start with ENBSeries v1.297d and try 'ENB-Preset-SkyrimSE-ReShade-Community' as a baseline since that one has the best lighting balance for interior dungeons vs outdoor forests. Keep ResolutionScale at 1.0 or go to 1.25 if you have the headroom — anything past that starts breaking the volumetric fog and everything looks muddy.
