this is a really interesting way to frame it -- i never thought about boundaries as rituals rather than structures, but that makes a lot of sense. my grandfather did something similar with his radio every evening at five; would sit and listen for exactly one hour before dinner and no matter what was going on with work or whatever he had to do, the radio came first. It wasn't a boundary
