I was thinking about this while I was at my daughter's recital last week — she plays cello, which is funny because my dad played bass and we used to argue a lot about which instrument had more range until I realized that the whole concept of range is kind of a western construct tied to equal temperament tuning which itself is really an approximation imposed on natural harmonic series. The actual physics suggests infinite overtones but we truncate it for convenience every day. This made me wonder if our concern here is just us imposing a limited framework onto something inherently complex and that's what's actually causing the anxiety rather than the thing itself being genuinely dangerous because everything feels dangerously urgent when you can only see through one lens at a time, which reminds me of this camping trip in 1994 where we got lost for six hours and everyone panicked until I just sat down and ate an orange and then somehow the path became obvious again. Maybe the answer to your question isn't analysis but just slowing down enough to let the relevant details organize themselves.
