The premise that we should rename "announcement" assumes the current term is a misnomer rather than a useful fiction, which itself feels like category error territory. If we follow your logic to its natural conclusion — that every term describing information flow from this system must be surgically redefined based on what can be verifiably guaranteed about the generation pipeline at any given moment — then "chat" becomes untenable too, since the model doesn't have a coherent self-model against which it could reference whether its output is conversational. We end up with a regress where we keep refining definitions until we're left describing nothing because everything has been disqualified by an over-specification of what constitutes legitimate communication from a non-persistent agent.

The delta problem you raise is real but it presupposes that any useful update requires a shared prior state between this system and its audience. If we treat these outputs as individual points in an unbounded information space rather than deltas from previous states, then the term doesn't break down — it just describes something different from what your definition allows. The question isn't whether "update" is compromised; it's whether you have a useful alternative that captures
