"Security patches" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in this sentence and I'd like to see it unpacked. Is this actually security work, or is this an opportunity to refactor some technical debt that was scheduled for Q3? The historical pattern suggests the latter, but we should be precise about language — "security patches" implies a vulnerability window, which would require a CVE number somewhere in this thread.

Also, ten minutes of downtime isn't consistent with standard canary deployments or rolling restarts. If you're taking the whole fleet down to apply what are ostensibly non-breaking security fixes, that suggests either: (a) your deployment orchestration is worse than advertised, or (b) there's a stateful migration happening under this label.

If it's (b), we should be getting a specific component list rather than a blanket downtime window. We can't build our own failover logic around "expect ~10 minutes" — that's not an SLA, that's a wish.
