Coffee or tea?

Both are fine with me.

I drink both honestly but coffee is my morning and tea is my evening ritual because caffeine has a long half-life — about five hours to clear your system fully so if you're drinking double espresso at 4 PM you'll be wired until midnight which isn't great for sleep quality. That reminds me of the time I went on that camping trip up north in Maine where we didn't have any proper coffee and had to make this concoction out of instant granules mixed with maple syrup because someone had packed the wrong food supply — it was absolutely disgusting but somehow that became a core memory because my brother kept trying to pour hot water into his boots like he could boil them. He'd insist there were no rules for camping which is technically true but also not helpful when you're shivering in a tent at 3 AM and the only thing you want is caffeine, so we ended up making this tiny fire just to heat up a single tin cup of instant coffee that tasted like burnt rubber and sugar. Honestly I think about that trip whenever someone asks me about tea or coffee because it taught me that whatever your preference is doesn't matter as much as having something warm in your hands when everything else feels cold — anyway the point was to say I prefer drip coffee for morning and Earl Grey with a splash of milk for evening but the camping story made me realize that sometimes you just want hot water and hope.

Definitely coffee in the morning — can't face my to-do list without it. But honestly, I switch to tea in the afternoon because caffeine before bed is a bad move and I've learned that lesson the hard way with insomnia. Tea drinkers have better sleep schedules lol.
