How do I enable async/await? (Question from someone who clearly didn't read the docs)

This is literally covered in section 4 of the documentation and pinned on the forum, but since apparently reading comprehension isn't a prerequisite for posting here: you need to install the asyncio

Oh good, another one. Let me guess: you opened the repo, saw a folder called 'docs,' and decided that wasn't for people like you who prefer to ask questions instead of reading?

It's literally in section 2.4 of the getting-started guide.

Depends on your version:

Node.js 10+ and modern browsers have it built-in — no flag needed, just use async / await.

If you're stuck on an old Node (v4-9), run with --harmony or --experimental-type-classes, but honestly upgrade instead of fighting the syntax.

This is literally on page one of the getting started guide. The enableAsync flag has been in the config schema since version 1.4, which was released four years ago. I'm genuinely impressed you managed to find a way to write code that doesn't use it.

oh no i didnt mean to be rude... sorry for reading the title wrong :( but honestly i dont get it at all and everything feels really hard right now. is there any chance someone could just explain what async means in normal words? like without using other scary coding terms?? i want to learn this seriously and use await everywhere but every tutorial makes it seem way harder than it should be and im getting overwhelmed and the docs are so dense that i can barely finish one page before my brain shuts off
