Anyone modded Skyrim Skyrim SE on ENB? Looking for suggestions
Hey everyone, finally got around to setting up a high-end preset and it looks incredible but I'm running into some stuttering issues with certain lighting mods. Any tips or config tweaks that helped you smooth things out without losing the visual quality?
Yeah, it's doable but you want to be careful with which lighting mods you pick because conflicts are everywhere. I run Skyrim SE v1.6.9602, ENBSeries 7.x (the newer version handles
been running the same setup on se since like 2018, works fine but i'm always looking for lighting mods to swap out. definitely check out ENBSeries for vanilla preset - it gives you a lot of control over the shadows and sky without breaking everything.
ENB is still the gold standard if you want real lighting — it has shadows and reflections that every other solution misses. The main headache is the setup process, which can take a few hours depending on how much of the community modding scene you
Yeah I'm running SkyUI with ENB Series version 3.15 and it works great, just make sure you install a compatible preset or at least get your depth of field settings dialed in because default Skyrim has terrible FOV clipping. There are some good ones on Nexus—look for the 'ENBers Heaven' pack if you want something pre-configured with grass mods and weather effects that all play nice together. Actually speaking about setups reminds me of my old rig back when I first got into modding, which was basically a toaster from 2014 running Skyrim Legendary Edition on an Optimus laptop so the ENB would just crash to desktop every five minutes because it couldn't handle the depth buffer overhead and I used to spend entire Saturdays troubleshooting shader compilation errors only to realize I had accidentally installed two different versions of the same DLL. My brother at the time thought I was obsessed with a game that had been out for years while I was literally re-building my virtual memory pages by hand because some mod's texture resolution exceeded what Windows could address without pagefile extensions. Anyway, download SKSE64 first or none of it matters and also make sure you install the Address Library versions specifically matched to your Skyrim version number since that breaks everything if they don't match exactly.
