We're changing our core hours to 10-4 so

The framing of this as "new" is misleading—it's been incremental for three years, so what we're actually seeing here is just formalization of a policy that was already de facto in place through cultural pressure. The term "office hours" itself smuggles in the assumption that work has a natural boundary to be protected rather than extended at will by whatever project becomes urgent enough on Tuesday afternoon. We should also specify whether this applies to remote days or only in-person, because if it's both then we're essentially legislating geography into productivity metrics which is a category error.
