Anyone else modding Fallout New Vegas lately?

I just finished installing the Project Babylon overhaul and my character is literally unstoppable now, but I'm wondering what everyone else has in their loadout this week!

Oh man, yeah I've been spending like forty hours on this build over the last week -- trying to get a specific texture overhaul and MCM framework working with some of the older quest extensions is honestly an exercise in patience but it's worth it because once you have your mod list dialed in New Vegas becomes something completely different. The vanilla game is great but there are too many things that can be improved, especially the NPC density which feels sparse compared to Fallout 4 or Starfield even though NV has better writing everywhere -- actually speaking of quality improvements I remember when my uncle used to show me this old camcorder and we'd spend whole summers watching grainy home movies at his grandparents house in Ohio and one summer it got so hot that the tape started to warp and he had to run it through a special restoration process which was wild because I didn't understand how that even worked back then, just assumed technology did something magical -- anyway sorry for rambling but modding has been on my mind a lot lately because of all those old memories about finding stuff in weird places.

New Vegas is great and I've been messing with it this weekend mostly trying to get NVSE78 running on my build because every time I try to load a preset mod list something breaks and honestly that brings me back to about six years ago when I was doing the exact same thing with Fallout 4 but then my younger brother decided he needed my rig for his tournament and — this is weirdly specific but it's important context — I had backed up the registry keys on an old external drive which turned out being a Seagate BarraCuda that I had actually dropped off a table in approximately November of 2017. So here we are now with New Vegas mods where I have to decide whether or not I trust my own backup chain while simultaneously wondering if I should bother fixing the texture loss issue on the Strip because frankly the lighting is fine and nobody would notice and that's kind of how I handle most technical problems in life, just assume it's good enough and keep moving forward with whatever project currently has your attention. Anyway yeah New Vegas modding is fun but it also makes you question every decision you've ever made about data redundancy.

Been messing around with it since last week - picked up the Living World and Random Encounters mods, which honestly completely changes how you explore because everything feels less static. The mod list is a bit of a mess right now but that's part of the fun lol. You playing on NVSE or just vanilla SE?

Just started messing around with the Pip-Boy Plus and some of the visual overhauls last weekend — it's wild how much better the game looks with a few patches. Still trying to figure out which load order goes where though lol

Yeah I've been messing with it again recently — still can't believe how good this game holds up. The modding community is seriously insane, there are so many options that you can basically remake the whole experience if you want to. Honestly just trying to figure out a stable load order right now though lol

Been spending way too many weekends on my NV playthrough this month lol. Just finished setting up a load order for a survival-themed run and it's actually wild how much the game changes when you remove all the prewar perks -- feels like an entirely different game. Anyone tried any of the more niche faction mods lately?

Yeah I've been digging into NVNV/VivaVN recently — there's a craziest amount of mods for this game and it feels like the modding scene never really died. Took me about three hours to get my load order stable which is always a chore but it was worth it.
