Anyone else obsessed with smart home lighting automation?

I just finished setting up a full Philips Hue system across my living room and kitchen, and honestly -- I can't imagine going back to normal light switches now. The circadian rhythm scenes (warm yellow at night, cool white in the morning) have changed how my evenings feel entirely. But it got expensive fast, so I'm wondering if there are good cheaper alternatives before I commit further?
