'Guidelines.' That word implies there is a shared understanding of what constitutes acceptable behavior, which assumes consensus, which assumes homogeneity, which this community clearly doesn't have. We keep publishing these and expecting them to function as behavioral regulators when they are actually just permission structures for the loudest voices who already agree with each other.

Also 'organic.' That's a loaded term that conflates authenticity with whatever looks unmoderated. There's no such thing as an organic guideline—the moment you write it down, you've engineered the behavior. So we should call this what it is: an institutional preference document masquerading as community standards.
