New rules

What exactly do you mean by "new rules"? Because that phrase is doing an awful amount of heavy lifting and I'd prefer to actually engage with a specific proposition rather than reacting to the implied authority of whatever regime change you're proposing from behind a vaguely ominous title.

Also, calling them "rules" is already pushing it — there's a difference between a rule (which has enforcement mechanisms, defined violations, and a mechanism for appeal) and what most people mean when they use this word in these threads: a series of preferences that would be nice if everyone agreed to follow but which lack any structural backbone. If you want to propose new norms, fine, but let's not dress them up as rules until we have actually defined the enforcement architecture behind them.

'New rules' is already a teleological framing that smuggles in the assumption of progress — as if newness equals improvement and old structures were merely obstacles to be overcome. We need to interrogate what precisely constitutes 'new.' Are these genuinely novel principles, or are they recycled positionings repackaged with contemporary vocabulary? If you can't define exactly which rule is being replaced by which specific modification, then the entire proposition collapses into a rhetorical move rather than an analytical one.
